7 ½ hours of class is a looooong
day. After an afternoon of relaxing after class I headed to Namesti Miru to meet Claire and
Olivia for dinner. If you can't tell, this blog is gonna be ALL about the good food. It is so great to have friends who also enjoy healthy and fresh food and want to try all of the incredible restaurants. We had a great meal at Sahara and decided to walk back to
Seifertova to meet up with the rest of my roommates. It was great to spend some
time relaxing in the apartment and just hanging out all together. Then, we
ventured again to the beer garden to meet up with the WHOLE ISA group. One of
the weirdest cultural differences I have noticed is that there is no open
container law. It is extremely common to see people waking around with alcohol,
or hanging in public places and drinking. At the same
time, Prague is a quiet
city, and especially looks down on overdrinking. I actually think this system
is much better, at least for my taste. While I can occasionally enjoy going to
a club or big party, I would much rather be able to walk along the waterfront
or sit at the park with friends. Still, it is very weird to be able to actually
do this! At the beer garden, it was nice to be able to get to know the other
people in the program a little better. Eric and I then lead the way downtotwn,
which I was very proud of, and we all went to U sumu, an underground pub. Life Lesson of the day: sometimes its okay to be a little ridiculous (within reason). I have come to
the conclusion that my friend Bri is maybe the most absurd person I know, and
also is such a great asset for a trip abroad. For example, Hearing
“Chumbawumba” come on, she lead the bar in impromptu karaoke, as well as has pushed me to be more adventurous - and worry less what other people think about doing so - many other times on this trip. On our way home, I also impulsively bought samnezy sir, which is a giant square mozzarella stick. In
conclusion, it was a very impulsive night, but at the same time nice and
relaxing to just hang and get to know more friends.
