Happy 21st to my wonderful roommate Julie!
Starting the morning with a giant meringue from Bakeshop, we then headed to Stromovka park to start
the celebration outdoors! (After a long weekend, I acted as cheerleader and
opted for bottles of “still voda", but still fun!) We then went to see
the oldest bar in Prague, or the American bar, underneath the Opera house. This
is a BEAUTIFUL room, and was perfect for the occasion. Then, we wandered
through Old town, stopping at little food trucks and checking out restaurant
menus. Life lesson abroad: Sometimes
things just fall into place. We spend a good chunk of the day trying to
figure out great birthday dinner plans, but during our wandering did not find
any great birthday place.
Upon returning home around 7:45, we quickly turned to
the first restaurant in the ISA guide and
as it turned out we found the PERFECT spot. Café FX is above Radost FX,
one of the best clubs in Prague (However its biggest claim to fame is that a
Rihanna music video was filmed there). However, the Café above it has
incredible vegetarian food in a really cool setting, and again, great birthday
drinks for Julie! Brianna, her friend from school, Julie, and I had a great
dinner, finished with birthday macaroons. That night we all went out for Julies
birthday, but also with Nicole and Amanda! I ended up mostly just catching up
with Nicole, admiring Amanda’s money shirt, or chatting with Zach and Eric, but
it was so great to have everyone in one place hangin out J  |
